At Chaplin Oak we use an ancient traditional carpentry technique known as ‘British Scribe Rule‘. This allows us to work to a very high standard and level of complexity. Using a combination of these traditions alongside contemporary design and finishing techniques, we can create distinctive high quality oak frames.
Whether self-building or using contractors, we can integrate seamlessly into the construction process.
We care about our impact on the environment, sourcing our timber locally and limiting our working radius within East Anglia (Suffolk, and close borders of Essex, Norfolk & Cambridgshire) to keep help reduce Co2 emmissions.
We really enjoy the less generic forms of traditional timber frame construction, so if you have a challenging or creatively interesting project then please get in touch.
Please note – we run a small scale business which is not subject to VAT.
