Spot the difference, one is from my stock of oak pegs, the other is ~500 years old!…

A few years ago I found an intact peg in an early C16th property. It was actually securing an elm collar to elm rafter that had completely deteriorated (subsequently replaced). Since the peg was oak, it was pretty much immaculate. The new peg is hand cleft, drawn and tapered in exactly the same way, I wonder how many other traditions are still identical?! Simply awesome!
