I have been more than a little busy recently, especially with the pre-Christmas rush. Though I have just made a start on the next big project – this barn-themed detached three bedroom house.

It’s a good size and crammed full of some really interesting features. Mostly possible as I have been given creative free-roam! The front gable truss is probably my favourite; a flared cranked tie beam, with those double-bend struts are definitely something unique. This section will be glazed so it should look spectacular.

There is much I could say about the design, but as they say, a picture paints a thousand words, so I’ll leave it to subsequent blogs.

Another rare twist is that the frame is not entirely oak. Approximately 30% is Sweet Chestnut and a few select pieces are cut from Elm!
