Starting just this week, we have an apprentice – Joshua Baldry from the Prince’s Foundation. He has been through a stringent selection process to receive a bursary to help with his transition into traditional carpentry. We will be working on a new frame from delivery of timber to raising. Here he is cutting some chamfer stops…

More on the Prince’s Foundation scheme here: Great that the Prince supports training in traditional crafts, not so great that he’s an advocate of woo.

Watch this space as the frame is modest, but fairly complex half-hipped sling brace design.
