This not-insignificantly sized truss (5.5m wide) was cut precisely to be inserted into an existing barn. The barn was converted some years ago for domestic use and an internal chimney was removed which was supporting a critical ridge beam. This truss was engineered to support the ridge.
Here’s a picture of it finished, left outside to get a sun tan!
This was made particularly difficult as the roof was to stay untouched. The truss had to be assembled inside the barn then lifted using a crane through holes in the roof! It was an exceptionally tight fit, but once in place it looks great…
