It’s been a real delight to be working on this ridiculously over-braced roof these last few days.  This crown on this medium sized frame will look amazing. 


The braces in the plane of a roof are known as wind braces, being traditionally quite slender. Here is a picture from the back face of one side in the workshop. Note that any timber defects/dirty faces are generally faced outwards to avoid being seen, so probably not the best face to be looking at.
